Kerala Flood Relief Efforts – Believers Eastern Church

The southern state of Kerala in India is witnessing one of the worst ever floods in nearly a century. The unprecedented rains that started August 8 triggered floods and landslides, causing widespread destruction to lives and property, displacing tens of thousands of people and forcing more than a million people into relief camps.

BELIEVERS EASTERN CHURCH RELIEF EFFORTS

Believers Eastern Church’s teams are on the ground doing everything they can- from rescuing marooned families and evacuating them to safety, giving shelter to victims of flood, providing life-saving supplies and medical assistance to people in relief camps, to cleaning flooded homes to make them habitable. Parishes in Kerala, institutions of the church including the Believers Church Medical College Hospital, Schools and Bridge of Hope and other dioceses are jointly working towards the cause of providing relief and rehabilitation to the flood-hit population of Kerala.

The relief and rehabilitation efforts are still underway.
