On 27 September 2025, Hope for Children Pokhara, in partnership with Nayagaun Dental Health Care, Soyans Pharmacy, and Helping Hands Organization, organized a free general health and dental check-up at Shiv-Tole Community Hall, Ward No. 9. Nearly 150 children, along with their parents, benefitted from this compassionate initiative.
Mr. Nanda Ram Giri, Ward Member of Ward No. 9, was the chief guest at the event. In his remarks, he expressed deep appreciation for the work of Hope for Children, assuring full support from the local community and governance. He highlighted the uniqueness of the initiative, noting that while medical camps often cover blood pressure, sugar, and eye check-ups, this was the first-ever dental camp held in Ward No. 9.
A dedicated team of five dental professionals extended their expertise with great care, offering services such as treatment of decayed teeth, teeth cleaning, extractions, and fillings—all free of cost. Many children who were enduring tooth pain received much-needed relief, while others gained treatment for cavities.
Beyond treatment, the program emphasized preventive care. Children were educated on proper brushing techniques, the importance of oral hygiene, and steps to maintain healthy teeth. To encourage regular practice at home, each child was gifted a toothbrush and toothpaste.
The heartfelt feedback from participants reflected the immense impact of the camp. Many parents shared that the high cost of dental treatment had previously kept them from seeking care, forcing them and their children to live with pain. They expressed overwhelming gratitude to Hope for Children Pokhara and its partners, urging that more such health awareness programs be conducted in the future.
