Seven Deacons Ordained to Priesthood at St. Peter’s Cathedral in Sri Lanka

The Archdiocese of Colombo witnessed a momentous occasion yesterday, as the Holy Sacrament of Ordination to the Priesthood was celebrated at St. Peter’s Cathedral, Kandana.

In a solemn and joyous service, seven deacons were ordained as priests through the laying on of hands and prayers, marking the beginning of their sacred ministry. The ordination ceremony was presided over by His Eminence Geevarghese Mor Makariose Episcopa, Archbishop of the Colombo Archdiocese and the Kigali Diocese.

The Cathedral was filled with reverence and thanksgiving as clergy, faithful, and families gathered to witness this milestone in the life of the Church. The newly ordained priests are now entrusted to serve the people of God with faithfulness, humility, and zeal, continuing the mission of Christ and the strengthening of His Church.
