The National Christian Movement for Justice, Pathanamthitta District, organized a seminar on “Christian Participation in the Freedom Struggle” on Saturday, which was inaugurated by H.H. Moran Mor Dr. Samuel Theophilus Metropolitan.
During the inaugural address, His Holiness reminded the gathering that “the story of Christian involvement in the freedom struggle is not just a chapter of history; it is a legacy and a challenge for our times. If they could sacrifice their comforts, careers, and even their lives for truth and justice, we too are called to safeguard freedom and build a just society where even the weakest can live with dignity.”
Rev. Shaji K. George, District Vice President, delivered the presidential address. Messages were delivered by Very Rev. Dr. Abraham Inchakalod Corepiscopa, Pastor J. Joseph, Rev. P.C. James, Rev. Dr. K.C. Varghese, and Dr. Prakash P. Thomas.
The seminar was a meaningful reminder of the significant yet often overlooked role of Christians in India’s freedom movement, inspiring all present to continue upholding truth, justice, and human dignity in today’s society.
