To All My Brother Archbishops, Bishops, Priests, and beloved Faithful of the holy church,
In the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Amen!
Christ is Risen!
As a church, it has always been our sacred practice to pray each week for our country and its leaders.
In the light of the increasing tensions and conflict between Pakistan and our beloved nation India, we
are called to pray now with even greater fervency, urgency, and unity.
Therefore, I humbly request that all parishes take time during the Divine Liturgy this week to specifically
pray for the following:
• That peace may prevail in our land and throughout the region.
• That wisdom and discernment may be granted to the leaders of both nations as they make
critical decisions.
• For the protection of all people, especially civilians and those in vulnerable areas.
• That no more lives will be lost, and suffering will be prevented.
• That all forms of terrorism and violence will vanish away from our universe; and such agents
will put down their arms and work for peace for all.
• That a lasting and just solution may be found quickly, guided by God’s mercy and righteousness.
Let us lift our hearts in united prayer, trusting that the Lord hears His people. As it is written:
“The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much” (St. James 5:16).
In Christ’s Promise of Peace,
Moran Mor Samuel Theophilus Metropolitan
