Hope for Children Supports Vulnerable Families Through Goat Distribution Programs in Bangladesh

Hope for Children of Believers Eastern Church in the Diocese of Dhaka, Bangladesh, recently conducted two goat distribution programs, providing vulnerable families with sustainable livelihood opportunities and helping them take meaningful steps toward economic independence and long-term stability.

During one initiative, the HFC Balarampur Centre distributed 70 goats to 35 vulnerable families, with each household receiving a pair of goats as an income-generating asset. Along with the distribution, beneficiaries received practical training in goat rearing and animal husbandry, enabling them to care for the animals effectively and develop a sustainable source of income. The program aimed to promote self-sufficiency while strengthening families and encouraging greater economic resilience within the community.

In another initiative, the HFC Chotobari Centre provided 33 vulnerable families with a pair of goats each as part of its livelihood support program. The project focused on creating sustainable income opportunities, particularly for women and economically disadvantaged households. By combining livestock distribution with practical guidance on animal care, the initiative sought to reduce poverty, strengthen community resilience, and provide families with the means to build a more secure future.

For many beneficiaries, the support represented more than just the gift of livestock—it offered renewed hope and an opportunity to improve their families’ livelihoods. Many expressed heartfelt gratitude for the assistance and shared their commitment to caring for the animals and using them to create lasting economic opportunities.

Through these livelihood initiatives, Hope for Children continues to empower vulnerable families with practical resources that foster self-reliance, strengthen communities, and create brighter futures for the children and families it serves.
