His Holiness Moran Mor Dr. Samuel Theophilus Metropolitan delivered the Convocation Address at the Graduation Ceremony for the 2019 MBBS Batch of Believers Church Medical College Hospital (BCMCH), held at the Mor Athanasius Yohan I Memorial Convention Centre. In his address, His Holiness encouraged the graduates to pursue their medical vocation with integrity, compassion, and a deep commitment to serving humanity.
The Chief Guest for the occasion was Smt. Veena George, Hon. Minister for Health, Women and Child Development, Government of Kerala. The Honorable Minister commended the institution for its commitment to medical excellence and the values it instills in its students.
The ceremony began with a warm welcome address by Prof. Dr. George Chandy Matteethra, Director and CEO of BCMCH. The invocation was led by Rev. Fr. Dr. Daniel Johnson, Executive Secretary of the Department of Liturgics & Faith, Priestly Care & Formation, and Digital & Social Media, Believers Eastern Church.
Smt. Susan Thomas, IRS, Commissioner of Income Tax (Audit), New Delhi, delivered the Commencement Address, offering words of encouragement and inspiration to the new graduates.
Rev. Fr. Sijo Pandapallil, Senate Member – KUHS; Manager – BCMCH; and Executive Secretary, Department of Medical Missions & Public Relations, Believers Eastern Church, introduced the Chief Guest.
Prof. Dr. Elizabeth Joseph, Principal of BCMCH, administered the medical oath to the graduating batch, affirming their commitment to ethical medical practice. Representing the graduating class, Dr. Samantha Sajeev shared a heartfelt response during the symbolic candle-lighting ceremony.
The event was a meaningful reminder of the institution’s mission to raise up skilled and compassionate healthcare professionals who serve with a Christ-like spirit of care and dedication.
