General Synod of Believers Eastern Church Commences at World Church Headquarters

The General Synod of Believers Eastern Church commenced on the evening of 10 May 2025 with a solemn opening ceremony held at St. Thomas Believers Eastern Church Cathedral, located at the World Church Headquarters. His Holiness Moran Mor Dr. Samuel Theophilus Metropolitan officially inaugurated the Synod, which is being held alongside the Women’s Fellowship Leadership Seminar.

The Synod began with heartfelt thanksgiving to the Holy Trinity for the grace to observe the first anniversary of the repose of His Holiness Athanasius Yohan I Metropolitan in a blessed and meaningful manner.

More than 250 senior leaders of the Church—including Archbishops, Bishops, Vicar Generals, and heads of various orders and ministries—have gathered for this important assembly. The Synod will continue until 14 May 2025, concluding alongside the Women’s Fellowship Leadership Seminar.

This sacred gathering provides a time for deep spiritual reflection, thoughtful deliberation, and meaningful fellowship, as the Church seeks divine guidance for its future direction and ministry.

The faithful are invited to uphold this gathering in prayer, asking for grace and heavenly counsel upon all discussions and decisions.
