With thanksgiving to the Triune God, the Holy Church rejoices in the sacred and historic occasion of the Episcopal Ordination of Very Rev. Fr. Chitra Rupacha, Very Rev. Fr. Manja Tamang, Very Rev. Fr. Ishwor Lama of the Archdiocese of Kathmandu, and Very Rev. Fr. Kalyanapriya of the Archdiocese of Colombo, which took place on the 12th of June, 2026 at St. Peter’s Cathedral, Colombo, Sri Lanka.
Moran Mor Dr Samuel Theophilus Metropolitan presided over the solemn ceremony as the chief celebrant and, through the apostolic laying on of hands, ordained and consecrated the elected Reverends to the Holy Episcopate, entrusting them with the pastoral ministry of shepherding Christ’s flock in faith, truth, and love.
Joining in this sacred service as the co-celebrants were Their Eminences John Mor Irenaeus Episcopa, Justin Mor Thomas Episcopa, Joshua Mor Barnabas Episcopa, Geevarghese Mor Makariose Episcopa, Daniel Mor Timotheos Episcopa, and Titus Mor Osthathiose Episcopa, the members of the Holy Synod of the church.
Upon their ordination, the newly ordained bishops received the following episcopal names:

✠ Very Rev. Fr. Ishwor Lama —Ishow Mor Dionysios
✠ Very Rev. Fr. Manja Tamang —Andrew Mor Polycarpos
✠ Very Rev. Fr. Chitra Rupacha —Philip Mor Ivanios
The priests and hundreds of the faithful of the Archdiocese of Colombo, together with well-wishers and friends, participated with reverence in the Holy Sacrament of the Consecration of the servants of God in a solemn service that extended to five hours. The Church rejoices and prays that Almighty God may grant the newly ordained Episcopas wisdom, strength, and spiritual discernment as they undertake their sacred ministry in service to the Holy Church and the people entrusted to their care — serving God and humanity, bearing abundant fruit, bringing honour and glory to God, and serving the community with love and compassion.
