The Commissioning and Dedication Service for the Sisters of the Cross was held at St. Peter’s Believers Eastern Church in the Archdiocese of Kathmandu on 7 and 8 June 2025. The two-day service marked a significant spiritual milestone, as eighteen sisters, representing diverse regions, cultures, and languages, were formally inducted into the Order of the Sisters of the Cross.
Having faithfully completed nine months of rigorous spiritual formation and training, the sisters were commissioned in a solemn service presided over by His Eminence Titus Mor Osthathiose Episcopa. As a symbol of their sacred calling and lifelong commitment, the Episcopa presented each sister with a saree during the service.
The following day, the Dedication Service commenced with a solemn procession, led by the newly commissioned sisters and church leaders. In the presence of the Archbishop and a congregation of clergy and faithful, the sisters took their solemn oaths—pledging lifelong faithfulness to God and the Holy Church, and devoting themselves wholly to the mission of fulfilling the Great Commission of Christ. Each sister submitted her signed pledge letter and received a Cross Necklace—a profound symbol of self-denial, love for Christ, and a life dedicated to sacrificial service.
His Eminence Arch Episcopa delivered a powerful message centered on the divine theme of Sacrificial Service. He commended the sisters for their devotion and urged them to reflect the love of Christ through their ministry to the poor, needy, and helpless. He concluded with a special blessing, praying for divine guidance and strength for the sisters as they embark on their new journey.
One of the newly dedicated sisters, Sister Pratibha Bishwakarma, expressed her heartfelt gratitude, saying, “God has been gracious in helping me enter into the Order of the Sisters of the Cross. I accept this sacred responsibility with great joy and thankfulness. I thank my leaders who worked hard and imparted life-changing lessons to make me worthy of this calling. I will always pray to make a lasting, positive difference in the lives of those I serve. Thank You, Lord, for Your abundant love and grace.”
The Archdiocese of Kathmandu invites the faithful to uphold these newly dedicated sisters in prayer as they begin their ministry. May God use them powerfully in His service wherever they are placed, and may they continually draw strength and guidance to serve those in need with love, humility, and compassion.
