Believers Eastern Church Mission Diocese of Sagarmatha in Nepal helped 37 poor and needy families with relief materials on 12 July 2021.
These families eke out a precarious living as daily wage laborers. The Coronavirus pandemic and lockdown have left them on the brink of starvation, battling for survival.
Seeing their struggle for sustenance, the local priest of the area undertook an initiative to help these Covid-hit families with dry rations. Each family received 30 kg rice, 1 liter mustard oil, 1 kg salt, and 2 pieces of bathing soap. All these needy families received the items with much joy and gratitude.
Hark Bahadur said, “I am a daily wage earner, but the COVID-19 lockdown has left me jobless. I was so depressed and worried thinking how I was going to provide for my family’s needs. I thank Believers Eastern Church for the kind help.”
“I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to Believers Eastern Church for showing compassion towards us and providing us with essential items”, said Rudra Kumari.
