In a compassionate initiative to uplift the marginalized, Believers Eastern Church Diocese of Ranchi inaugurated a Clean Drinking Water Project at a leprosy colony in Ranchi, under its humanitarian initiative, the Amar Neer Project. The project was officially inaugurated by the Honourable MLA Shri Navin Jaiswal, Member of the Legislative Assembly from the Hatia Constituency.
Speaking at the event, Hon. MLA Shri Navin Jaiswal commended the diocese for its noble service, stating, “Water is the source of human life. Serving humanity is indeed serving God.” He expressed deep appreciation for the Church’s efforts in reaching out to vulnerable communities.
Colony Chief Mr. Sitaram Mahto emotionally recounted the dire challenges the community had faced in the past: “During the summer, the entire colony suffered from severe water scarcity. At times, people couldn’t bathe for several days as all four borewells would run dry. It was during this crisis that Believers Eastern Church stepped in and facilitated the installation of a borewell. Today, 200 families benefit from this project. We sincerely thank the Church for this invaluable help.”
The Clean Drinking Water Project stands as a testament to the Church’s commitment to serving the least and the lost, ensuring access to basic human necessities with dignity and compassion.
