Believers Eastern Church Diocese of Khagrachari carried out a winter relief initiative by distributing blankets to 1,000 families across the region to help them cope with the severe cold.
The distribution began on 6 January 2026 in the Khagrachari District, where 500 families received winter blankets. The outreach continued from 10 January to 18 January 2026 in the Rangamati and Bandarban districts, benefiting another 500 families.
The initiative brought warmth and hope to many vulnerable families. Mrs. Santa Mro, a 65-year-old widow, expressed her heartfelt gratitude after receiving a blanket. She shared that she did not have a proper blanket for sleeping and had been struggling during the cold winter nights. With joy, she said that she never expected to receive such a good blanket and thanked God for providing for her through the leaders of Believers Eastern Church.
Another beneficiary, Mr. Komoljoy Tripura from Khagrachari, also shared his experience. He explained that due to a lack of sufficient blankets at home, his children were forced to sleep at a friend’s house during winter. After receiving the blankets, he was able to bring his children back home. He expressed deep happiness and thanked Believers Eastern Church for taking such a timely initiative to support families in need.
Through this winter relief program, Believers Eastern Church once again demonstrated Christ’s love in action by standing alongside the needy and bringing comfort and warmth to vulnerable communities during a challenging season.
