The Council of Bishops of Believers Eastern Church convened this week at the Church’s World Headquarters under the chairmanship of His Holiness Moran Mor Samuel Theophilus Metropolitan.
During the meeting, the bishops prayerfully deliberated on a range of important matters, with particular focus on the final preparations for the first Memorial Service of the Church’s beloved spiritual father, His Holiness Moran Mor Athanasius Yohan I Metropolitan of blessed memory. The Memorial Service will be solemnly observed on the 8th and 9th of May.
The Council also conducted a comprehensive review of the Church’s ministries and mission over the past year. Guided by prayer and discernment, the bishops explored strategies to further strengthen pastoral care, spiritual formation, and the Church’s broader mission initiatives in the coming year.
Key matters pertaining to the upcoming General Synod were also discussed in depth. Members of the Metropolitan’s Working Committee also joined a few sessions to offer their insights and assist in planning.
The Council closed with renewed commitment to shepherd the faithful and continue the vision of Moran Mor Athanasius Yohan I Metropolitan for a vibrant and mission-driven Church.
