On the occasion of World Leprosy Day, the dioceses of the Believers Eastern Church marked the day with meaningful acts of compassion and solidarity for individuals and families affected by leprosy. Across various regions, Women’s Fellowship and SOC teams visited leprosy colonies, hospitals, and communities to extend Christ’s love through prayer, fellowship, and practical support.
During these visits, teams distributed food, clothing, blankets, hygiene kits, fruits, and other essential supplies to those in need. In addition, trained volunteers and sisters provided wound care by carefully cleaning and dressing the wounds of leprosy patients, offering both medical assistance and comfort with dignity and respect.
Beyond material assistance, the teams spent time with residents and their families, listening to their stories, praying with them, and encouraging them with words of hope. Many families expressed deep gratitude for the support and presence of the Church. Awareness activities and outreach programs were also conducted to promote understanding, compassion, and dignity for people affected by leprosy.
These initiatives reflect the Church’s commitment to serving the marginalized and vulnerable, following the example of Christ’s love and compassion. The Believers Eastern Church continues to stand in solidarity with those affected by leprosy and remains dedicated to supporting their journey toward healing and restoration.
The Church invites the faithful to continue praying for all those living with leprosy, that they may experience healing, comfort, and renewed strength through God’s grace.
