Believers Eastern Church Liberia Trains Teachers for New Free Coaching Center Initiative

As part of its Community Transformation Program (CTP), Believers Eastern Church Liberia recently conducted its first-ever one-day Teachers Training Workshop to prepare educators for its Free Coaching Center (FCC) initiative. Held at the CTP National Headquarters in Lakpazee, the workshop brought together 12 teachers representing six Community Transformation Program communities, along with their team leaders and parish priests. The training marked an important milestone as the Church prepares to launch Free Coaching Centers across the six project communities.

The training forms part of the Church’s ongoing commitment to holistic ministry, seeking to serve children through quality education while nurturing Christian values and character. The Free Coaching Centers aim to provide academic support to children who have limited access to additional learning opportunities, helping them grow intellectually, morally, socially, and spiritually. Through this initiative, the Church is working toward its broader vision of ensuring that every child, regardless of their socio-economic background, has access to quality education.

The workshop opened with prayer led by Rev. Fr. Sachin Pakhre, diocesan vicar of Believers Eastern Church in Liberia. He encouraged the participants to view teaching as both a profession and a sacred calling, reminding them that every child is a precious gift from God. He emphasized that teachers have the opportunity to shape not only academic success but also the future of families and communities through their love, dedication, and faithful service.

During the training, participants were introduced to the vision and objectives of the Free Coaching Center ministry and received practical instruction on their responsibilities as teachers. Sessions covered lesson planning, classroom management, learner-centered teaching methods, child protection, ethical conduct, communication, reporting, and accountability. Interactive discussions allowed participants to share experiences and explore practical solutions to challenges they may encounter in their respective communities.

At the conclusion of the workshop, each participant received the official FCC Teachers’ Manual, which outlines the roles, responsibilities, ethical standards, and operational guidelines for the ministry.

The workshop marked an important step in strengthening the Church’s educational ministry in Liberia. As the trained teachers return to their communities, they carry with them renewed skills, practical resources, and a shared commitment to providing children with quality education rooted in moral values. Through the Free Coaching Center initiative, Believers Eastern Church Liberia is investing in children today to help build stronger families, transformed communities, and a brighter future for Liberia.
