The Community Transformation Program (CTP) of Believers Eastern Church–Liberia has inaugurated its first Tailoring Skills Training Unit in Doe Community, Montserrado County, marking a significant step toward empowering women and promoting self-reliance.
The initiative aims to equip mothers with practical tailoring and basic business skills, helping them build sustainable livelihoods and regain confidence. For many women in the community, the program offers not only a means to earn a living but also a renewed sense of dignity and purpose.
Speaking at the inauguration, Dn. Sachin Pakhre, Country Director of Believers Eastern Church–Liberia, emphasized the deeper mission behind the project, saying, “This training is not just about stitching clothes — it is about stitching hope into lives and faith into futures.”
The event was graced by several dignitaries, including Hon. Whroway Bryant, Superintendent of Montserrado County; Hon. Rudolph S. Buima, Township Commissioner; and Hon. Kelvin Sebwe, former national football player. In their addresses, they expressed appreciation for the Church’s efforts to uplift the community. Hon. Bryant assured the County’s continued support for such transformative initiatives, while Hon. Buima described the project as “a blessing from God to this community.”
The first phase of the training will benefit twenty-three mothers from Doe Community. CTP–Liberia also plans to extend the program to other regions in the coming year, giving more women across Liberia the opportunity to achieve self-sufficiency and stability.
Through this and other community initiatives, Believers Eastern Church–Liberia remains committed to its mission of transforming lives through love, service, and practical faith.
