Believers Eastern Church Liberia Equips Mothers with Pastry Skills for Self-Reliance

Believers Eastern Church Liberia, through its Community Transformation Project (CTP), celebrated the graduation of 11 mothers from the Pastry Skills Training Programme, marking a significant step toward self-reliance and renewed hope for their families.

After successfully completing five months of training, the graduates acquired practical baking skills to help them establish sustainable livelihoods, support their families, and contribute to the well-being of their communities.

The program featured presentations by children from the Children Character Formation Class, who shared the importance of Christian values and godly character. Community leaders also expressed appreciation for the Church’s continued efforts to promote holistic community development.

Addressing the graduates, Rev. Fr. Sachin Pakhre, Diocesan Vicar, encouraged them to use their newly acquired skills with diligence and integrity while also sharing their knowledge with other women and vulnerable girls in the community. He reminded them that true empowerment grows when it is passed on to others.

A pastry exhibition showcased a variety of products prepared by the graduates, including cakes, doughnuts, meat pies, and other baked items, giving them an opportunity to experience entrepreneurship as guests purchased their products.

During the ceremony, each graduate received a certificate along with a start-up business package containing essential baking equipment and materials, including a pot oven, baking pans, baking sheets, muffin trays, a roller, flour, butter, and cooking oil, enabling them to begin their own income-generating ventures.

The initiative reflects Believers Eastern Church Liberia’s commitment to empowering vulnerable mothers through practical skills training, fostering self-reliance, and strengthening families with sustainable sources of income.
