Believers Eastern Church Dioceses Observe International Widows’ Day Through Acts of Compassion and Care

On the occasion of International Widows’ Day, Believers Eastern Church dioceses reached out to widows across communities through acts of compassion, care, and practical support, reflecting Christ’s love in tangible ways.

Across different regions, widows received food and ration kits, sarees, blankets, umbrellas, mosquito nets, kitchen utensils, traditional attire, and other essential household items. In some places, livelihood support, such as goats, was also provided to help widows build a more secure future.

One of the dioceses also launched a new widow welfare program to provide ongoing financial assistance and long-term support for widows in need. Through this initiative, the Church seeks to continue strengthening and uplifting widows through sustained care and assistance.

Widowed members of Believers Eastern Church parishes were also honored on this occasion. Special gatherings, house visits, prayers, words of encouragement, and fellowship reminded each recipient that they are loved, valued, and never forgotten.

These initiatives were inspired by the biblical call to care for widows and orphans, as Scripture reminds us: “Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress…” (James 1:27).

Believers Eastern Church gives thanks to God for the opportunity to serve these precious women with love, dignity, and hope. Through these observances, the Church reaffirmed its commitment to extending Christ’s compassion to widows and those in need, becoming instruments of His grace in communities around the world.
