Believers Eastern Church commemorated a historic occasion yesterday evening with a solemn celebration marking the 1700th Anniversary of the Council of Nicaea. The event was held at the St. Thomas Believers Eastern Church Cathedral, World Church Headquarters.
The program was inaugurated by H.H. Moran Mor Dr. Samuel Theophilus Metropolitan and presided over by H.E. Justin Mor Thomas Episcopa, President of the Department of Ecumenical & Inter-Religious Relations. The Church was also honored by the presence of the chief guest, Rev. Fr. Dr. Reji Mathew, Former Principal of the Orthodox Theological Seminary, Kottayam, and Former General Secretary of the Kerala Council of Churches.
Archbishops, bishops, diocesan vicars from various dioceses, and members of the St. Thomas community were present for the occasion, making the celebration even more meaningful.
The evening was a time of reflection, unity, and gratitude as the Church reaffirmed its commitment to the unchanging faith passed down through the centuries — One Faith, One Lord, One Church.
