The Agartala Diocese of Believers Eastern Church held its General Convention at St. Thomas Nagar, Belbari, bringing together thousands of faithful for a time of worship, teaching, and fellowship. His Holiness Moran Mor Dr. Samuel Theophilus Metropolitan graced the occasion as the chief guest. The gathering was further honored by the presence of Hon’ble Shri Animesh Debbarma, Forest Minister of Tripura, and Hon’ble Shri Purna Chandra Jamatia, Chief Executive Member of TTAADC, both of whom expressed their appreciation for the Church’s contributions to the welfare and development of the people in the region.
The convention was conducted under the leadership of His Grace Yacob Mor Theophanous Episcopa, Diocesan Episcopa of the Agartala Diocese, with this year’s theme being “Seek the Lord.” His Eminence John Mor Irenaeus Episcopa, Archbishop of Delhi and Chennai Archdioceses; His Eminence Joshua Mor Barnabas Episcopa, Archbishop of Kolkata and Jorhat Archdioceses; and His Grace Anil Mor Philemon Episcopa of Meghalaya ministered from the Word of God in various sessions. Alongside them, Mrs. Dr. Siny Punnoose, Executive Secretary to the Departments of World Missions, IT and the Information Department; Rev. Fr. Sijo Pandapallil, PRO of Believers Eastern Church; and Mrs. Jeena Praison, Executive Secretary to the Department of Women and Publication, also shared powerful messages, calling the faithful to walk closely with Christ, remain steadfast in prayer, and live a life shaped by the love of God.
More than 10,000 believers representing four dioceses and four mission provinces of Believers Eastern Church in Tripura took part in the convention. The event also featured cultural presentations that beautifully showcased the rich heritage of the local communities. The convention concluded with the Holy Eucharist, marking the close of a spiritually enriching gathering that strengthened the faith of the participants, who returned to their homes renewed in heart, strengthened in faith, and inspired to continue seeking the Lord in their daily lives.
