In a world often marked by unrest and uncertainty, we are reminded of the power of prayer to bring hope, healing, and unity.
As the Believers Eastern Church family, we lift our hearts together in prayer for peace in the Middle East and across the world. May God’s mercy comfort those who are suffering, guide leaders toward wisdom and justice, and fill every heart with love instead of hatred.
Let us not only pray for peace but also strive to be instruments of peace in our own homes, communities, and beyond.
A Prayer for Peace in the Middle East and the World
Lord, our God, the Lover of humankind. You came that Your creation might have life and have it abundantly; we humbly lift up our prayers to You for the peace of the world and for the redemption of all Your creation.
God of peace and mercy, look upon with compassion those who suffer in lands torn by war, violence, disharmony, and injustice. Remember all who live in fear, oppression, sorrow, and suffering.
You said, Lord, “My peace I give to you; not as the world gives.” Grant Your heavenly peace to the Middle East and to every corner of the world held in the shadow of violence, war, terrorism, accumulation of destructive weapons, and hostility.
Douse the flames of hatred that divide nations and peoples. God of love, turn the hearts away from violence, and bring an end to the spirit of destruction.
Grant wisdom and humility to the rulers and leaders of the nations. Guide them to come to the negotiating table and work towards justice, reconciliation, and the well-being of all people.
Remember, gracious Lord, those thousands of the wounded, refugees, displaced, and grieving families. Be their comfort, their protection, their hope, and grant that they may have their basic rights and dignity.
Cleanse the hearts of all from hatred and revenge. Fill them instead with love, compassion, and forgiveness, that unity and concord may grow among all.
Make us also instruments of Your peace, that through our words and deeds we may bear witness to Your love in our neighbourhood and in the world.
For You are the true Peace of the world, and to You. Christ the Lord, we give glory and praise together with the Father and the Holy Spirit, now and ever, and unto the ages of ages. Amen.✠
