The Believers Eastern Church Kokrajhar Diocese Annual Convention was held with great spiritual fervour and joy, bringing together around 2,500 faithful from parishes across the region.
The three-day gathering beautifully reflected the diocese’s rich cultural diversity, with participation from various linguistic communities, including Bodo and Santhali, standing as a testimony to the Church’s mission of fostering unity, social harmony, and collective well-being among all communities.
His Eminence Joshua Mor Barnabas Episcopa, Archbishop of the Jorhat and Kolkhata Archdioceses, graced the convention as the main speaker. Inspiring messages were also delivered by Rev. Fr. Sijo Pandapallil, PRO of the Church and Director of BCMCH; Rev. Fr. Ajay Tulsiary, Regional Vicar of the Diphu Region; Rev. Fr. Ghanakanta Basumatary, Diocesan Vicar of the Kokrajhar Diocese; and Mrs. Aryom Babina Lepcha, Secretary to the Department of Women, Kolkata Archdiocese. On the final day, the presence and valuable address of Sri Rabiram Narzary, Hon’ble Local MLA, added further significance to the convention.
The gathering also highlighted the Church’s active engagement in social welfare initiatives, including child care, support for the elderly and widows, literacy programs, women’s healthcare, access to safe drinking water and sanitation, and anti-drug awareness campaigns—reflecting the Church’s unwavering commitment to holistic development and service to society.
